Welcome to the St Austell Methodist Circuit Website
The calling of the St Austell Methodist Circuit is to respond to the good news of God’s love in Jesus Christ, and live out its discipleship in worship, mission and service to people of all ages and abilities, working with other Christians as much as possible.
St Austell Methodist Circuit consists of twenty one chapels in an area that stretches from the coast at Mevagissey, inland to the China Clay area around the Eden Project, and on towards Newquay at Indian Queens. A Prayer for A Prayer Pastor
Thank you for your Prayer Pastors. Thank you that you fill them with dedication, love, kindness, passion and the heart for this ministry. Please continue to bless them, protect them, give them wisdom and the words to pray. Keep them safe as they keep others safe. In your precious name Jesus. Amen.
As another Street Pastor’s Sunday passes, I think about how the Street Pastors are in the lime light all the time, easily recognised with their uniforms and the Sunday services, informing others what the ministry is all about. But back in a room, meeting hall or their own home is a Prayer Pastor, dedicating their time also to the early hours of the morning just the same as the Street Pastors.
Street Pastors would not be able to go out on patrol into the night time economy without the Prayer Pastors. While the Street Pastors are out, the Prayer Pastors are continually praying.
Thessalonians 5:16-15 (NIV)
Rejoice always. Pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Here in St Austell we are firm believers of the 90 second prayer. If a situation is happening in the town, a Street Pastor will contact the prayer team and we pray together, and praise the Lord the situation normally resolves, within this time. We have so much respect and love for our Prayer Pastors as most are over 50 and have physical difficulties or disabilities, but this never stops them and without fail they are always there…our wing men and women.
Romans 12:12-13 (NLT)
Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble and keep on praying. When Gods people are in need be ready to help them. Always be eager to practice good hospitality.
